Ken Davidoff says Yankees/Pirates have decided on 2 "b level" prospects.
I sure hope not.
"#Yankees, #Pirates know which players would go to NY for Burnett if Pittsburgh pays $13 mil. B-level prospects, surely. Deal remains likely."

I wonder if by “B-level” he doesn’t actually mean a “B” grade prospect, but rather inconsequential throw in types.
That's pretty much exactly what I thought, and what is almost definitely true.
NH gets flack for overvaluing prospects, so I can’t imagine the Yankees getting anything good out of this deal.
OMG!! OMG!! OMG!!
“B” level??!! That must mean Josh Bell. His name starts with a B!!! And he plays baseball and THAT starts with a B!!! OMG!!!
Or maybe it’s Jesus Brito. Whatever.
Occupy MLB! Down with Seligula!
nooooooooooooo
wasn’t brito the return on the bixler deal? nutting always gives away our good players for ones that don’t work out!
Clearly the Pirates
won’t be including two actual “B” or “B-” prospects because they’re not dealing Marte, Grossman, Heredia, Kingham or McPherson. Still describing whatever the Bucs might include as a B prospect is odd b/c if Evan Chambers is a B what is Cole? Super-duper mega-A?
Yankees have made counter offer...
of sliding scale – Pirates give up lesser prospects the closer they get to $15m.
At this point I would tell Cashman to wedge said scale firmly up his ass.

I have an odd feeling that Huntington is gunna screw this deal up from the Pirates perspective and give away too much in the “two B level prospects”. if we see a Marte, Grossman, Heredia, Kingham, McPherson, Mercer go, alot of use will be very upset. alot of people hav been syaing that the pirates have had the leverage in this entire deal, but my gut feeling is that its been Cashman the entire time. he knows NH and the buccos desperation for starting pitching, so hes trying to gut out as much as possible out of their “sloppy seconds”
Desperation?
I haven’t seen any signs of desperation. Does anybody seriously belive that somebody like Marte, Grossman, or Heredia would be included in this deal? Such panic – if it happens, it happens. If not, oh well. It’s A.J. Burnett, not Cy Young.
Rudy Owens and Bryan Morris are B prospects
Wouldn’t mind seeing this happen. I dont think anyone in our top 7 would be less than a B+ so that means Tallion, Cole, Marte, Stetson, Heredia, Grossman and Bell are not on the list of players to go. Im starting to wish they traded Jones rather than the two prospects they are about to offer.
that is one bad prediction.

bah, stupid nonsense from random people
(OK, Ken Davidoff is a little better than random, but i stick by the first part.)
If everyone knows whats going where, why hasnt it gone down yet?
mystery team.
I read a couple of days ago that the Royals were interested. The four teams at that time were the Bucs, Angels, Royals and Indians. With the Angels being the team on the no trade list and the Indians having little interest. Wouldn’t surprise me to see the Yankees going to the Royals who need starting pitching and have a ton of prospects and try to create a bidding war between them and the bucs for prospects. The whole problem that I see with all of this is that we would have Burnett for two years. That is not the window where we are looking to compete. So you better not trade any pieces that could be on the big league squad(Marte, Cole, Tallion, Grossman) or pieces that could be traded later to get a better piece in a more timely fashion. A trade more similar to the Latos trade this year.
