I Need Your Votes, Bucs Dugout

I apologize in advance to Charlie for this shameless self promotion. Do with it what you will.

A while ago there was a post about Xfinity's Ultimate Sports Social Media Job contest. Yada yada yada, I entered and now I'm up for voting. If I'm Top 5 in voting, I'll advance to a "tryout" weekend thing and hopefully win the job from there.

This would mean the absolute world to me, the timing with me about to graduate is perfect. Like many of you, I am an avid Pirates fan. Being a part of this community has really brought my understanding of the game to a new level and I feel like some of those principles have trickled into other parts of my life. I've truly learned a lot from here and am thankful for it.

It would be great if you guys could vote for my entry. I don't have much to offer aside from an immense amount of gratitude and the promise to not mindlessly bash the Pirates like some of our, uh, other media members in this town.

EDIT: Voting was down and they say it will be back up between 6-7. Methinks some videos will be removed because the rules were pretty strict about trademarks and whatnot, but we'll see.

EDIT 2: Voting is back online. You have to "Like" Xfinity's page first in order to vote. The link above is a direct link to the video, but I think when you "Like" their page, it doesn't redirect you to it. Simple solution is to click the link, like their page, then open up my link again and hopefully that takes you right to my video. I'm Greg A.

on the left side menu, there is a red vote now tab. click it, thats it.

It says voting opens on the 9th. Although technically it IS the 9th for me, the poll isn’t open yet. Maybe it doesn’t go active until business hours? In any case, I’ll check back sometime tomorrow and vote then if they’ll let me! Good luck!

I’ve heard from a lot of people that the voting has been kind of spotty. The link I posted was a direct link to my video and it takes me right to my video, but I think if you haven’t already “Liked” Xfinity, you can’t see it. In theory then, the easiest way is to just “Like” the Xfinity page, then close out and try my link again.

If the direct link doesn’t work, you can click Vote Now in the column on the left, then click the Vote Now button that loads in the middle of the page. Then, to find my video, you have to click next about 6 times. I’m Greg A.

Sorry for all of the confusion there. Another important detail is you can vote once per day, so for those of you really pulling for me, it would be phenomenal if you kept up with it everyday. It only goes until the 19th.

Views don’t equal votes, but I see my video is #5 in views. The top 5 videos move on, so I can kind of assume that I’m right near the cutoff, so I need to keep gaining momentum. If you already voted, don’t forget to do it everyday. If your family/friends are around, get them to vote.

I didn’t even have class today, but I spent a few hours at my school literally interrupting strangers at their computers to get them to vote for me. Plan on doing it all next week too.
