James McDonald allowed five runs, including two homers, and apparently wasn't at all sharp today.
Clint Hurdle called James McDonald "mediocre" today, said fastball was "up and flat."
It'll be interesting to see if McDonald gets back on track in his next start, since the Pirates are only a few weeks from Opening Day. In the meantime, though, the Pirates' bullpen got through six scoreless innings today (partially against lesser competition, obviously), and the Bucs' offense got to Jake Arrieta, Jim Johnson and Willie Eyre, piling up 15 hits, including two each for Alex Presley, Neil Walker, Garrett Jones and Josh Harrison.
The Bucs play the Twins in Fort Myers tomorrow at 1:05.
