OK so i know this isn't 'bucs' related but it is baseball related so I figured I would give you non-ps owners out there a bit of warning. This is nearly the worst sports title's I think I have ever played.

First lets lead with this, I am a realism junkie in relation to anything gaming related and that includes sports titles; perhaps doubly so with sports titles. So when I finished my download to see that I still can't call a game as a catcher in this final iteration of the MLB licensing (hopefully) I was more then a bit put off. I guess the nerds at 2k are WAY worse then mmo nerds in that its obvious that catchers, simply catch the ball, the dont dictate pitch type, location, pitch outs, and so on. The importance of a catcher to any ball club I personally think is 1B, right behind a good arm for 1A in priority list...but that's just me. At least your average mmo'r knows that a baseball is in fact a ball.

Secondly, fielding. While this is a moot point in gameday or any variant of franchise mode, in MP mode fielding glitches are the norm. Here's the deal. If you botch a throw even though you may be point blank to the AI and doing an underhanded throw, watch out. chances are it will sail up and over the head of a 7' tall Sasquatch and land about 20 feet behind him. If you are a pitcher moving to cover 1st because the ground ball you just gave up pulled the 1b too far from the bag for him to make the play on his own, he will throw it to where you ARE, not where you are going. Those are issues that are up and down this title.

Third, dont try and beat the roster update to get AJ Burnett. While the game did take into account tab's new contract as well as all most of the other off-season acquisitions, it did not pick up Burnett, nor did it take into account that the Buccos apparently increased payroll by about 12 mill or so. So happy day, you as a devout bucs fan will start about 12 mill +/- 1mil in the red. which means like any good bucs gm you have to shed payroll for prospects.

If you like the meaningless polish/banter that comes with kruk and phillips going back and fourth, or silly pop ups that show you how well you are pitching, pick this up. If however that is a moot point if the gameplay sucks, or you'd like to pilot this years iteration of the bucs with out having to wait for a roster update which may or may not iron out the payroll issue, or iron out the glaring defects of a title released about two months too soon, stay far far away. The good news is though that all indications are that 2K will loose the MLB licensing since the contract is up at the end of the year (or there abouts, im not quite sure when it ends i just know that this is the last release before it does come up)

I didnt see anything posted up on the side bars about this title, i know most of us cant get enough baseball, so i figured I would throw out a warning shot to those of you that are contemplating getting this. If this isnt the spot for it, admins feel free to move it around.
