Is Matt Hague "a slow, defensively limited first baseman?" This is a real question, though I'm happy to start an argument if folks have disagreements. Evidently he's not agile enough to play third base at the major league level, as he was a third baseman at Oklahoma State. Here are some (obviously deficient) minor league stats:

That Hague can't field does not leap out from these numbers.
My logic behind the comps is that Evans is supposed to be a good fielder at first, Lee used to be a good fielder, Votto is a middle of the pack fielder. Of course Rizzo and Alonso are contemporaries of Hague. What would be better comps? Who has seen Hague at first? What does the eyeball test say? He can obviously hit.
