Pirates Sign Rick VandenHurk
RHP Rick VandenHurk signed with the Pirates after electing free agency following an outright assignment by the Indians.

Via WHYGAVS. He'd been with the Indians, but he'd played his entire career before this in the Marlins and Orioles organizations. He's been a starter most of his career, and he throws fairly hard (with average fastball velocities around 93 MPH both of the last two years) so he might have some fragment of upside if the Pirates tried using him as a reliever, but he probably won't be back in the majors this year.
