Come on! .202 batting average 15 games into the season? Just 30 runs scored with
a paltry 97 hits, averaging just 6.3 a game? Only 22 extra base hits and a pathetic 25 walks? Lifetime batting averages, Jones .254, McCutchen .279, Mcgehee .265, Presley .290,
Barmes .250, Tabata .277, Walker .277, Barajas .236, Alvarez .223. Yeah okay they have faced alot of tough pitchers but .202? The
Pirates should be grateful to be 6-9 and just an amazing half game out of second place. I have no physical proof how they will turn it around. I could blame the hitting coach but I don't even know his or her name. But I will tell you all this. We are not going to take it anymore! No more losing 1-0. No more leadoff inside the parker and then the bats go dead. I went outside in my boxers last nite in a wind driven rain pelting Nor'easter, where I looked up into the nite sky and begged the baseball Gods for forgiveness, for players using drugs after winning the 79 Series, for not showing proper respect for players like Stargell, for Ed Ott body slamming Felix Millian on the second base bag, for trading Willie Randolph to the Yanks for Doc Medich. I broke down in the end like a 7 year old school girl who just had her first slap fight. In the end I believe I was heard, hopefully not by my neighbors. Now go out and hit the ball! Hit it hard! Hit it far! Hit it where they aint!
