The season is VERY young, but 2 things are evident: the SP will never be better than it is now (hopefully will stay about the same) and the offense will never be worse than it was before this series. The Bucs have 6 quality starters...and Brad Lincoln. Which gives them 7 guys they can throw out there and expect, on a somewhat regular basis, to get a quality start. So, let's make a deal:

Boston is desperate for pitching. Erik Bedard pitched well for them and he is looking great right now. Right now. Now. Bedard and Harrison to Boston for Will Middlebrooks. Ok, so maybe Boston doesn't bite on that one...Bedard and who? for Middlebrooks?

Maybe a blockbuster: Boston gets: Bedard, Harrison, and Voglesong (Giants); Giants get Hanrahan; Pirates get Middlebrooks, Belt, and a LH reliever...pipe dream :)

I think Boston is desperate for SP and Middlebrooks is the guy we need.
