Call me an insensitive bastard, but ballplayers having kids in the middle of a season has always dumfounded me. Is it asking too much for them to plan to have their kids from November to February, when they are off the clock? Who would want to have a newborn when you're working late 5 nights a week and traveling half the time anyway?
