Jonah Keri names Andrew McCutchen one of his top five 2012 breakout candidates (along with Brandon Morrow, David Freese, Derek Holland and Mat Gamel). It's hard to argue about McCutchen, not that I'd want to. He batted .216 in the second half last season and .259 overall, and I don't see either of those things happening again. He's 25, he's toolsy and incredibly athletic, and his game has matured to the point that he doesn't have any obvious weaknesses. Who knows, but conditions are perfect for a breakout this season.
