5 tool players

Today on MLB radio they were talking about 5 tool players. They started by saying that the term was overused, and that even really great players were usually missing at least one tool. Then they start rattling off some names, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds. Over and over again they kept naming Bonds. I am in the minority of thinking that Bonds was maybe 4 and a half tools instead of five. There is a reason the Pirates never made it to the world series. There is a reason Sid Bream scored. Obviously Bonds thought he had all the tools, but I never considered him to have a plus arm. Clemente is the type of person I think of when I think 5 tools. They went on to list the players in todays game who they considered to be 5 tools... Matt Kemp, Carlos Gonzalez, Jacoby Ellsbury, Bryce Harper, Andrew McCutchen and one other player I am leaving out. What about Beltran, Jennings, Upton, Braun, and Heyward. I can agree with the arguement that the term is too loosely used, but if that is the case, I don“t think Bonds is the guy you should be linking to the term. It was an interesting topic, and something relavent to the Pirates as they seem to strive to get the toolsy guys as opposed to a big bopper or a straight speedster.
