Why I think the Bucs are playoff bound

It's hard to believe the Bucs are 19-22 with an anemic team batting average of just .217. The starting pitching has been awesome as well as the bullpen. All of this with Karstens out, one of last years solid pitchers. Lincoln looks like he may have turned the corner and we have a couple of guys in AAA who are ready to help out. McDonald, Burnett and Bedard are striking out a good rate of batters. If they stay healthy it looks good.

The schedule looks easier from here. Sure the Pirates still have alot of tough games but they have plenty of inner division games where they can really make a move. They have expierence from last season and perhaps have a better understanding of what it takes to compete over 162 games.

So what's it gonna take to wake up the offense? Maybe just time. Alot of these hitters struggling are hitting way below their career averages, and things have a way of averaging out. Maybe the pitching keeps us close and we pickup a bat at the Break. Maybe Marte gets called up then as well. Maybe someone like Pedro or Casey finds his swing.

The bottom line is the division is much more balanced than last year. Pujols and Fielder and now Berkman just tore his ACL. Anything can happen, one key player on the Reds going down and it's a wide open field. I know it sounds ridiculous with the losing streak and all, but it really pisses me off when I hear people posting how the Bucs just can't compete this year. I know it's quite rational to feel that way, and maybe it's correct to feel that way, but it seems morally wrong to be a true Bucco fan and not be behind them 100 percent.

In closing I'm holding out for a miracle. I believe the bats will come alive. I belive the Front Office will not sit on their hands at the trade deadline. I believe the Bucs will rise from the ashes of dreadful seasons past and surprise everyone and make the playoffs. Who's with me?
