Sorry for the off-topic post, ladies and gents, but I'm asking for help from Pittsburghers and those who live in the general area (mods, delete this if it's not appropriate). My family and I are attempting to figure out what we're going to do on our family vacation during the last week of June and first of July; both my parents and I are going to be driving "halfway" between their home in Connecticut and mine in Michigan.
I suggested we meet up in Pittsburgh because, well, I've been there once, but I love the city; I feel like it's home, and I want to live there later in life. Anyway, I wanted to get the family to go to a Pirate game or two at the very least before we move on to somewhere else. What other "hot spots" are in the area (or even in the state) that you would suggest doing? I mentioned Gettysburg, as in the not-so-distant future I'll be an English/History teacher. Even if the suggestions are away from the city, the more options we have the better the chance that we'll actually get to visit the Burgh.
Thanks guys! Sorry if this in inappropriate...I figured you guys would be some of the best to ask! Oh, and always...Go Bucs!
