Minor League Roundup: Zack von Rosenberg Returns, Alex Dickerson Keeps Hitting

Summaries of Tuesday's action:

-P- Indianapolis had a forgettable game, losing 13-2 to Pawtucket. Justin Wilson brought his F game, allowing seven runs, six earned, over four innings. He gave up nine hits, two of them HRs, and four walks while striking out five. Kris Johnson and Jose Diaz gave up another six runs, so the Indians turned to outfielder Brandon Boggs for what turned out to be a 1-2-3 inning. On the offensive end, Indy got to face both a rehabbing Daisuke Matsuzaka and a rehabbing Mark Prior, although Justin Germano actually pitched most of the game. Prior fanned five in just 1.2 IP. Chase d'Arnaud went 3-5, Jeff Larish hit his first HR for Indy, and Tony Sanchez went 1-4 in his first AAA game.

-P- Altoona shut out Reading, 1-0, with the only run scoring on Miles Durham's second HR. Shairon Martis threw eight innings and Jeff Inman pitched the 9th for the save. Elevys Gonzalez went 4-4. The Curve lineup is looking pretty anemic right now, with Sanchez gone, Matt Curry hurt and, at least today, Robbie Grossman sitting.

-P- Bradenton got an excellent start from Hunter Strickland, but Quinton Miller blew a 4-1 lead and the Marauders lost to Daytona, 6-5. Strickland allowed one run on three hits and one walk in six innings, with four Ks. Miller, however, gave up five runs in 1.2 IP. Alex Dickerson went 3-5 with a double and a triple, Gift Ngoepe went 2-5 with a triple, and Mel Rojas, Jr., went 2-5.

-P- West Virginia dropped a 3-2 game to Delmarva. The Power's offense came from Willy Garcia and Gregory Polanco, who combined for five of the team's six hits. Garcia hit his seventh HR and went 2-4 while Polanco hit his ninth and went 3-4. Zack von Rosenberg made his first appearance out of extended spring training and went four innings, allowing just an unearned run on two hits and a walk, while fanning one. Zac Fuesser pitched the next four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks, with five Ks. Alen Hanson had his third straight bad game following a blistering hot streak, going 0-4 with two strikeouts.
