Well, except for the Karstens injury. Crap. Anyway, West Virginia was off and Bradenton was rained out, so just two games:
-P- Things went south for Indianapolis with Karstens' injury, with the Indians blowing a 3-0 lead and losing to Pawtucket, 5-3. Karstens lasted through 4.1 IP, allowing two runs, one of which scored after Duke Welker replaced him. Karstens allowed just three hits, walked none and fanned five. He threw 45 of 63 pitches for strikes. Welker coughed up one of Karstens' runs and then three of his own in 1.2 IP. Evan Meek threw a scoreless inning, walking one and allowing one hit. Jeff Clement and Yamaico Navarro each had a double in four ABs. Tony Sanchez went 1-3 with a double and threw out the only runner who tried to steal on him, which happened to be Pedro Ciriaco. (How Sanchez could see Ciriaco when Clint Hurdle never could hasn't been explained.) Starling Marte went 0-4 with three Ks.
-P- Altoona broke a 1-1 tie with a walk-fueled, six-run 8th to beat Reading, 7-1. Phil Irwin went six, allowing one run on seven hits and a walk, and fanning three. Brock Holt went 2-4 with a double and a walk, Jarek Cunningham went 2-5, and Quincy Latimore went 2-4.
