Nick Cafardo Suggests Pirates May Have Interest In Jon Lester

I'm not sure I'd attach much significance to this. Sure the Pirates would inquire, but that is just Neal Huntington doing his job. Lester is due $11.6 million next year and there is a team option for $13 million in 2014. Cafardo suggests the Sox would want someone like Gerrit Cole in return. Not happening. Cafardo also mentions the Pirates potential interest in Hamels, Greinke, Dempster and Garza in the same note, so he has covered all the bases.
