Before you laugh. Something is fishy with the whole Justin Upton deal. Why are the diamonbacks so eager to get rid of Justin Upton, their star player, despite being 5.5 games out. Coccidiomycosis is a common fungal infection that is otherwise know as valley fever. I live in Arizona so I am well aware of the disease. A University of Arizona study a few years ago found that 1/3 of community acquired pneumonias in Arizona are from valley fever. Valley fever can cause a systemic infection that drains strength from the person for years. Conner Jacksons career was ruined by valley fever. I also have heard of a minor league prospect in the Cactus League who got severe valley fever and had to have his pleural space decorticated. If I were the pirates I would make sure Justin Upton does not have valley fever before they take on his huge contract. Just saying something seems very fishy about this whole deal.
