Anyone know why Mercer didn't steal third??????????

If anyone can explain this to me I would love to hear the explanation, if there is one!!!

I think it was the bottom of the eighth inning tonight (Friday) against the Marlins. Mercer leads off with the double. WOW was that Jordy Mercer????? Anyway then Presley is up and is trying to bunt. On every bunt attempt the third baseman sprinted home and was at least half way to home after the pitch was thrown. I was sitting right behind home inline with the first base line.

Everyone in our section could not figure out why Mercer didn't steal third. There was NO ONE within 45 feet when the pitch was in the catcher's mitt. He could have done the crab walk and still made it there!!

The second or third pitch Presley should have pulled the bat back and let Mercer go to third. Then you have a lead off runner on Third Base with NO OUTS!

Can anyone explain why he didn't steal there?????????

Thanks, Sorry if there are any errors this is my first of anything on the site.
