IMO one of the only whiffs NH has had this offseason was letting Cedeno go and overpaying for Barmes. Cedeno’s hitting .263 this year with a .342 OBP. .726 OPS good for .5 WAR offensively. Are you gonna tell me Barmes defense makes up for whatever his negative offensive WAR is right now? Cedeno could arguably make MORE athletic/degree of difficulty plays than Barmes, granted he sprinkled some head scratchers in between his webgems. I’ll give you d’Arnaud, and MAYBE Mercer but at least this year, Cedeno’s been a way better player. Who has an opposing argument?
