The Brewers seem to have finally realized that they're working behind the hot dog stand this trading deadline instead of perusing the street for lunch, according to the statement their GM Doug Melvin made. Yay K-Rod. Corey Hart is likely to draw some interest in the final days before the deadline, hopefully NH at least makes the call. There's your RF bat folks. Lets hope it happens. To save everyone's Googlefingers:
-Under team control through 2013
-Balance of $9 mil salary this year
-Due to make $10 mil next year
-He's 30 years old
-He has a no trade clause that covers 15 teams, at the time of his last extension. Even if we're on it his mind could be altered based on how this year is shaking out
-He's hitting .330 in July
-.808 OPS this season
-He knows Casey McGehee omgomg!
-He probably has hit well in PNC Park. Like 92% of MLB players coming into this year.
He won't be free, talent of any sort usually isn't. I'm not sure what the Brewers plan is going forward, if money or prospects are their priority. In my opinion he puts the Carlos Quentin from earlier this month to shame, but I'd be all for seeing him make Z's.
