Do we start looking pitcher?

Stay connected for news and updates

With the emergence of a few bats, and the lack of possible suitors for our needs, is it time we start to flip our focus to another arm. Mcgehee and Jones are starting to play at a level that for the moment anyway makes you want to stop and say hold on before we make any decisions. Alex Presley seems to be doing enough since coming back up warrant playing time. Obviously you want Cutch out there every day. Pedro is going to get his time at 3rd. Neil Walker has done a decent job at 2nd. And Mckenry has picked up the slack behind the plate while hot rod is hurt. Unless we find the right deal for a 1B or corner OF with power, why make a deal? Bringing Marte up and sending Tabata down might be just as good a move as going out and overpaying for any bat out there. Keep in mind there is not a good market for us to go out and make a good deal. The one real blockbuster change to the lineup would come via a SS. Considering the Cubs are not going to trade us Castro, I find it hard to believe we are going to make a huge upgrade there either.

That brings us to our pitching staff. Morton is gone and I don't want to see Lincoln in the rotation. Are we going to ride KC through the second half? Or do we go out and put together a package that will net us another top of the rotation guy. Is owens, Holt, Wilson and Grossman enough for a Hamel rental? If the Phils are going to lose him anyway, maybe they look at it and get the deal done.
