First time FanPost from a long time lurker. I'm really interested in your thoughts on this.

I've been wondering for a few days what the lineup would look like once Marte is promoted. Here is my lineup and my rationale.

C - Barajas/McKenry - Same splits that have been going on.
1B - Jones/McGehee - McGehee plays 1B on the road all the time and they platoon at home.
2B - Walker
SS - Sutton - With the way he is hitting it seems like he could more than make up for the drop off in defense from Barmes. At least ride him while he's hot.
3B - Pedro
LF - Jones/Presley - Jones plays LF on the road all the time and use Presley at home for the defensive range at PNC
CF - Cutch
RF - Marte

So basically you end up with Sutton moving to short and a 3 way platoon of Jone, McGehee and Presley. At home use Presley for his defense and platoon Jones and McGehee. On the road play both of Jones and McGehee to get the bats in the lineup. This assumes that Jones actually can hit lefties, but for now it seems like he and McGehee have both figured some things out.

So what do you think? Is this home/away platoon something that is very common?
