The Pirates have announced that Jameson Taillon has been promoted from High-A Bardenton to AA Altoona. He is scheduled to make his first AA on August 21 in Trenton.
With Bradenton of the Florida State League, Taillon made 23 starts. He posted a 6-8 record with a 3.82 ERA. In 125 innings he gave up 109 hits, including 10 home runs. He walked 37 and struck out 98 for ratios of 2.7 BB/9 and 7.1 K/9. He also hit six batters and had 14 wild pitches.
Taillon will probably get two or three starts in Altoona as the Pirates increase his innings load from the 92.2 he threw last season. I am guessing they are targeting 135-140 innings for the season. The Curve's season ends September 3.
