Does anyone else remember back in June when the Pirates were slumping badly, had just been swept and thoroughly dominated by the Orioles? The Indians, who were having a good season, came to town and took the first game. Things looked rough. It seemed like a promising start was going to go down the toilet for the second straight year. In the second and third games of that series, Pedro Alvarez hit 4 homeruns (IIRC) and we won both games in dominating fashion. We went on to go on a hot streak that lasted into August.

We were in an even more serious slump coming into this series against St. Louis and Alvarez came up big again. Let's hope it ignites another hot streak!
