BA's #9 prospect in the ranking is high school LHP/OF Trey Ball, out of New Castle, Indiana. In the event that the order of BA's ranking remains unchanged for the next ten months (which it almost certainly won't) and that teams follow BA's order in making their picks (which they almost certainly won't), he'd be the best player available when we exercise the compensatory pick we received for not signing Appel.
