Alen Hanson was voted the SAL "Most Exciting Player" in Baseball America's recent lists. He has a slash line of 315/380/550, with 29 doubles, 12 triples, and 16 homers.
In some real news, Gift Ngoepe was voted the "Best Defensive Shortstop" in the FSL. Ngoepe leads FSL shortstops in total chances, double plays, and range factor. He's hitting 249/346/370 with 9 doubles, 5 triples, and 9 homers in 378 at-bats. A relatively recent convert to switch-hitting, has shown significant improvement from the left side of the plate. According to Bradenton Manager Carlos Garcia,
"He has to keep growing as a hitter.
Sometimes he tries to do too much. That's the part of development he has to get better at.
In a shock to me, Alex Dickerson was named the "Best Defensive First Baseman" in the FSL. Starling Marte was voted Best Hitting Prospect and Best Defensive Outfielder in the IL, which is not exactly news.
