I just dont understand why the Pirates dont take EVERY advantage of expanded September rosters.
We've seen 2 19-inning games in a one-year period. And plenty of other extended extra inning affairs, and as I type this we are in the bottom of the 12th v. Cincy.
So why not give yourself every possible advantage that you can? I want it explained to me why it doesnt make sense, after Indy's season concludes, to call up guys like Matt Hague and Yamaico Navarro (and even Dan McCutchen), who are on the 40-man and just sitting at home right now when they could be batting in say the 14th instead of Eric Fryer or James McDonald?
Can anybody offer a single valid reason for not calling them up "just in case"?
