It doesn't feel like it's been a particularly good week for the Pirates, and yet Pedro Alvarez has apparently been the league's best player over that span. Alvarez won the Player of the Week award pretty much on the strength of his brilliant series against the Cardinals, in which he went 8-for-13 and homered three times. That includes these two shots, of course.
