According to Bill Brink of the PG, via MLB Trade Rumors, the Pirates have agreed to sign right-hander Jeff Karstens to a one-year deal, believed to be worth about $2.5MM pending a physical.
Wonder if this means they're giving up on Liriano, or think they might be able to get him at a lower price.
Either way, glad to see Karstens back in a Pirate uniform for 2013 ... and at a bargain price, too ... at least by MLB standards.
