I found this story interesting as it relates back to (as does everything these days) the Pirates pick of Mark Appel last year. By failing to sign Appel, the Pirates received the #9 overall pick this year thus pushing all teams after them down by one pick. The key one here is the Mets. They were supposed to get the 10th pick (which is protected); instead they receive the 11th pick (which is not). And that is a very big deal because it is essentially causing them not to sign Micheal Bourn. Seems like Boras's decision last summer is costing other clients this winter....
