Let me preface this by saying that I am a baseball purist, I hate the wild card and enjoy baseball how it is (except for the economics and the twenty-year streak its given us).

With that being said, I thought of this idea after reading in a few places that they want to put the DH in the NL. As always with anything baseball related, I am curious what you guys think:

The rule should allow the manager to pinch hit for the pitcher so that the pinch hitter leaves the game after the at bat but the pitcher stays in the game. That way the 5 players (or six if you are any team other than the Pirates) would mean a lot more to you 25 man roster. A manager could still have his pitcher hit in the early parts of the game in order to save his bench for later innings.

Again, I hate the wild card :) I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this idea.
