The Pirates have announced the managers and coaching staffs for their minor league affiliates in 2013.

The staffs will be as follows:

Indianapolis

Dean Treanor: Manager
Mike Pagliarulo: Hitting Coach
Tom Filer: Pitching Coach

Altoona

Carlos Garcia: Manager
Ryan Long: Hitting
Stan Kyles: Pitching

Bradenton

Frank Kremblas: Manager
Edgar Varela: Hitting
Justin Meccage: Pitching

West Virginia

Mike Ryan: Manager
Orlando Merced: Hitting
Jeff Johnson: Pitching

Jamestown

Dave Turgeon: Manager
Kory DeHaan: Hitting
Mike Steele: Pitching

GCL

Milver Reyes: Manager
Mike Lum: Hitting
Miguel Bonilla: Pitching

Tim Williams has a lot of information about these guys. Among the most interesting is Pagliarulo, whose hiring is discussed in a Fanpost by NHpiratefan. He's been running a baseball consulting business and has ties to new front office hire Bill Livesey. Ryan is the former outfielder who played a year at Indianapolis and spent last year as a player/coach (which basically means coach unless there's an emergency) in the Pirates' organization. Merced you've probably heard of.

On the whole, it strikes me as a group with quite a bit of playing experience, including in the majors.
