Francisco Liriano hurts non-pitching arm; deal still not done

Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE

It looks like the Pirates' deal with Francisco Liriano has hit a snag, as Liriano has an injury to his non-pitching arm. The Bucs' contract with him is still not complete, and with this injury, one wonders when it will be, although the two sides are still discussing it.

If the two sides had a deal in place initially, one would think that an injury to Liriano's right arm would be unlikely to derail it completely. If Liriano isn't healthy or the Pirates can't get a deal done, though, the Pirates will still need to find a fourth starter somewhere.
