The Pirates have signed Jose Contreras to a minor-league deal. Contreras hasn't really pitched much in the majors since 2010, and his listed age is 41, so it's doubtful the Pirates will get much out of him, especially since he's recovering from elbow surgery and is still rehabbing, but he'll join the throng of pitchers at spring training.
