James McDonald and Jonathan Sanchez each pitched two scoreless innings as the Pirates stayed undefeated in Spring Training, beating the Braves 9-2.
Clint Barmes homered for the Pirates, Clint Robinson went 2-for-2 with a double, and Darren Ford went 2-for-3. Jason Grilli, Tony Watson and Jared Hughes all pitched scoreless innings; Mark Melancon and Justin Wilson gave up the only runs.
Obviously, it's impossible to draw any conclusions from any of this, but Sanchez is worth watching as someone who has at least some shot at making the team, perhaps as the second lefty out of the bullpen. He struck out two and walked one, although he did have a wild pitch and an HBP.
