Ken Rosenthal tweets that Francisco Liriano has passed his physical, so his contract is now official. The exact terms of the contract haven't yet been made public, but it's supposed to be a deal that protects the Pirates if Liriano's non-pitching-arm injury causes him to miss time. That Liriano has passed his physical likely does not necessarily mean he's ready to pitch, and I would expect this to continue to be touch-and-go through Spring Training at least.
