*The first major changes have been made to the projections. This has made them fairly accurate when I looked back at past players.
Hello, friends! You may have noticed that I haven't been around very much lately. It's because I have been working on building a projection system for NPB players coming to the MLB. It's a whole lot of work. But, I finished my very first batch of projections for hitters. The pitchers are not done yet, and the project is nowhere near complete. I hope that Charlie doesn't mind that I make this post that is mostly going to point you at the blog I made for them. The reason is because they aren't anywhere near finished, so I don't want to make them a big thing just yet, but I do want to share them with the community here.
Now, it stands mentioning that I want to share them here just because I appreciate the community here so much, even if I haven't been an active member lately. This community is what got me into baseball in a big way. Now, I've been working on this system, I will be presenting my work in a conference on my campus, and I will be headed up to the SABR conference in Boston to try to network with some people. I'm really trying to get a job in baseball, because this is what I love doing. And I owe that to this blog, and this community of people here at Bucsdugout. I knew nothing about baseball when I first came here. I have learned so much, and developed such a passion for a sport I previously didn't care about. So thank you everyone. I want you to be the first to see the fruits of my labors, and I hope that you will check them out when they are completely finished. Everything, pitchers included, should be done by the beginning of April. The address is www.nomprojections.com, I know Vlad will be excited to check them out, and I am eager to hear some feedback. And again, thank you. To all of you.
(If a post like this isn't cool, or a FanShot is more appropriate, feel free to take it down and shoot me an email Charlie. Usually, I would ask first, but I'm too excited to share this.)
