A Contrast in Organizations

I saw this headline "Fernandez called up on whirlwind day of transactions" and immediately wondered if the Bucs (in the same situation) would bring up Taillon? I doubt it.

Frenanadez is 20 and has only pitched 134 minor league innings. They have been very good-14-1 with a 1.75 ERA in his Minor League career, with 158 strikeouts and 34 walks. In his last three Double-A Spring Training outings, the right-hander threw 12 scoreless innings, striking out 19, while scattering just three hits. However he has never pitched above A ball.

Taillon (as a 20 Year old) has pitched over 200 minor league innings, and was 3-0 with a 1.59 ERA in 17 innings at AA Altoona (18 KOs in 17 Innings). He also faced ML hitters in the World Baseball Classic and did well.

I think the Bucs would never bring up Taillon in the same situation faced by the Marlins. And I think the Bucs are right not to. Good luck to Fernandez and hope his career does not suffer because of the Marlins dumb move!
