I know I have stated this before and many others as well. Tony Watson is not being used properly. I know Hurdle wants everyone to think that he is not a lefty specialist, and will even point to batting average to prove his point. I think Righties are only hitting like .230 against him. The problem is they are walking and getting hit an awful lot and hitting for a lot more power. Most of the at bats are grind them out kind of at bats too. He is getting ahead or even in the counts and running them late. You see a lot of strike, ball, ball, strike, ball, ball or strike, ball, strike, ball, ball, ball sequences. To me that means he doesn't trust his stuff to throw it over the plate to get these guys out or his stuff just isn't good enough so he needs to keep trying to get them to chase. Another tidbit, he seems to work best working back to back nights or with little to no rest. Isn't that perfect for a loogy?? Go in and get one or two batters every night.
