Pedro Alvarez earns NL Player of the Week honors

I was surprised not to see this here, yet:

Pedro Alvarez earns NL Player of the Week honors

From the article:

Alvarez hit .414 (12-for-29) for the week with an NL-best 10 RBIs. His four home runs were tied for second most on the Senior Circuit. With his torrid offensive numbers last week, Alvarez raised his season average to .237 and is now tied for second in the NL with 19 home runs to go along with 51 RBIs.

As WTM (I think) said in a game recap the other night, let's keep this in mind next April when we're asking why he's on the team. McCutchen is the Truth is also rumored to be working on a blog post about the 2008 Draft and how it's turned out better than it looked not too long ago over at Buried Treasure.

Sorry for the extra filler; have to make it to word count. It can't be complained about enough how the new format has effectively killed FanPosts and (especially) FanShots.
