I would love it if the Pirates went after Kevin Frandsen from the Phillies. He can play 1st, 2nd or 3rd base (he's played a little bit of SS and OF in his career, but its been a while). His overall numbers so far are 287/382/436 with 3 HR and 15 RBI in 94 AB. More importantly, his numbers as a pinch hitter so far this year are 333/394/500 in 30 ABs. I'm not sure if the Phillies will end up being sellers or not, but I can't imagine that a 31 utility infielder would be too difficult to acquire. He would be a huge improvement over cat-eyes and would immediately become the Pirates' best pinch hitter. It wouldn't be the flashiest move, but a semi-reliable pinch hitter would be a godsend to this team.
