Garza to the Rangers

The trade:

The Rangers get Matt Garza.

The Cubs get Triple-A infielder Mike Olt, Class-A right-hander C.J. Edwards, right-hander Justin Grimm and a fourth player to be named later from the Rangers.

It's good to know that the Pirates did not trade for Garza. Olt, who struggled some this year, Edwards, a low-A breakout pitcher who has better numbers than Glasnow, Justin Grimm, a lesser version of Cumpton, and a PTBNL make a steep price to pay for a rental. I would not have cared for a trade that sent Dickerson, Glasnow, Cumpton and a PTBNL to the Cubs, Pirates prospects who are equivalent to the players the Rangers sent to Chicago.
