Adam Dunn- owed ~20 million still left on his deal, White Sox pick up 11 million and we send them two C+ specs(Cumdaddy and Ngeope?)
I know must people are going to point out the defensive efficiencies in Dunn and his strikeout problem. Honestly, I don't think defense at first base is all that important. Plus, we have Gabby who we can use as a late game replacement. The strikeouts also don't affect me much. An out is an out, and id much rather a strikeout than a DP. On the flip side, he can hit homers. 8 seasons of at least 36 homeruns, and already 24 so far. He can also take a walk, which helps alleviate his bad batting average. A move back to the NL could also do wonders for him.
A lineup of:
This makes our bench very strong. We now have Tabata/Jones, Sanchez, Barmes, McKenry, and Travis Snider. The only weak link is Snider, who needs to be sent down for Lambo or Presley.
I think our pitching staff is fine. AJ, Locke, Liriano, Cole, and Morton plus the impending returns of Wandy and J-mac, as well as Gomez who has proved to be pretty effective and efficient. Our bullpen has been masterful and Victor Black replacing Grilli speaks of the amount of depth we have.
What do you guys think?
