Kingham struggles, Meadows goes deep

I'm going to have to post this with several games still in progress.  I've been traveling today and can't stay awake any longer.  I think the links will still be good after the games end

-- Indianapolis was leading Rochester through the 8th, 6-4.  Andy Oliver started and struggled, giving up four runs in three innings on five hits and three walks, with no strikeouts.  Alex Presley, Travis Snider and Kelly Shoppach were all 2-4.

-- Altoona won the first game if its doubleheader with Richmond, 3-2.  Nick Kingham had control problems, taking 103 pitches to get through four and two-thirds innings.  He fanned eight, but walked five and gave up four hits.  Somehow, that amounted to just two runs, one earned.  Jarek Cunningham went 2-3 and Alen Hanson 1-3 with a triple.  Gregory Polanco went 0-3 and Alex Dickerson struck out all three times up.

The Curve scored seven runs in the 4th and were leading game two, 11-0, in the 6th.  Hanson and Adalberto Santos were each 2-4, and Justin Howard 2-3.  Polanco was 2-3 with two doubles.  Casey Sadler had thrown four scoreless innings.

-- Bradenton lost to Palm Beach, 2-1.  Adrian Sampson took a shutout into the 8th, but gave up two runs to take the loss.  He ended up going seven and a third, giving up eight hits and no walks.  He fanned four.  Taylor Lewis had two hits.  Stetson Allie went 1-4.

-- West Virginia had to go into extras in the first game of its twinbill with Savannah, but prevailed, 6-3, in nine innings.  Francisco Diaz went 2-4 with a triple, his first HR and four RBIs.  Dilson Herrera added his 11th HR.  Chris Diaz and Walker Gourley each had two hits.  Josh Bell went 0-3 with a walk.  Clay Holmes, who had been pitching well, got knocked out in the 2nd inning.  He gave up three runs, two earned, in an inning and two-thirds.  He allowed four hits, two walks and one strikeout.

-- Game two was scoreless in the 4th.  Kyle Haynes was on the mound for the Power.

-- Jamestown got no-hit through seven innings, but broke through once the Williamsport starter was out and scored two in the 8th to win, 2-1. Jamestown ended with just three hits, singles by Edwin Espinal, Candon Myles and Adam Landecker.  Cody Dickson had a strong start, throwing five scoreless innings while allowing four hits and two walks.  He fanned five.

-- The GCL Pirates beat the Yankees1, 5-3.  Danny Arribas (pictured) went 3-4 with a double and Enyel Vallejo 2-5.  Austin Meadows went deep for the fifth time and Reese McGuire went 0-3 with a walk.  Blake Taylor threw four perfect innings, striking out four.
