I was 13 the last time the Pirates were in the postseason, so please forgive my lack of familiarity with this process. There was a online "raffle" of sorts for anyone who wanted to be preselected for the opportunity to purchase postseason tickets. I registered for this, as did most of my extended family on my behalf, but none of us were selected. In the email telling me where I did not win, there was a link to where you could purchase postseason tickets as of 10AM Weds. My first question is how realistic it is to get these tickets. My second question is to whether there are limits to these tickets. If I select the option to purchase tickets for the play-in wild card series, am I excluded from purchasing NLDS tickets? My worry is buying tickets for the play-in and not having the time to register for the NLDS tickets (given the limited window of time to order them that I expect). Then if the Pirates win the division, the play-in tickets would be refunded to me I'm sure, but would the window of ordering time for the NLDS be closed? How quickly are these tickets gonna be gone? I know most NFL playoff tickets are gone in less than 5 minutes and a lot of non season ticket holders never even see the link to order tickets become active before they are all sold out. Is that a worry here? Lastly, I see on the "tickets" section of this site that there are already tickets for the play-in all the way through the World Series available. The play-in game tickets don't seem to be too outlandish. I'd love to hear an opinion or two from a PNC ticket regular as to how to proceed. I live 4 hours from Pittsburgh and, although I do drive out for 4-5 games a year, as well as catch several games at visiting stadiums (Balt and DC mainly), I am still very much a newbie to this whole process. Help please!
