In all the hoopla about making the playoffs, we have not mentioned the possible records that individual players might win.
Pedro is winning the NL HR title. He is tied with Goldschmidt with 34. It is his to win, lose, or tie. The last Pirate to win the HR title was Stargell in 1973.
Clutch is 3rd with a BA of .325 to Cuddyer's .331. Clutch could still win the batting title if he keeps hitting .350 and Cuddyer hits .280 or below. Clutch is hitting .393 in Sept. but only .286 in the last 7 days. Cuddyer however is red hot in Sept batting .404 but again he is hitting only .263 in the last 7 days.
Marte is presently tied for 4th in SB with 36. The leader is the Brwer's Segura at 44. I don't think Marte can catch him but Marte could come in 2nd since Eric Young has 39. Ofcourse if Billy Hamilton keeps stealing 4 bases per game, he might win the title!
Liriano is tied for 3rd in wins, just 2 behind Zeimmerman of the Nats. Not sure he can beat him but he could tie him.
Last, Clutch is 1st in WAR but that is not a traditional stat and I don't think there is an award for that..yet!
