Meadows goes deep, playoff teams lose

Indianapolis and West Virginia lost their playoff openers and Jamestown concluded its regular season.

-- Brandon Cumpton pitched a complete game but got no support in a 2-0 loss to Durham.  Cumpton matched zeros with Jake Odorizzi for seven innings before allowing two runs in the 8th.  He finished with seven hits and one walk allowed, and two strikeouts.  The Indians managed only two hits and struck out a dozen times against Odorizzi and two relievers.

-- Tyler Glasnow got knocked out in the 3rd inning as West Virginia lost to Hagerstown, 6-1.  Glasnow retired only two batters in the 3rd while giving up four runs on three hits, two walks, a hit batsman and a wild pitch.  He finished with three walks allowed and five strikeouts.  The Power had just five hits, two by Raul Fortunato.  Josh Bell went 1-4 with a walk.

-- Jamestown will be the fifth of the Pirates' eight affiliates to reach the post-season after finishing its regular season with a 9-4 win over State College.  Austin Meadows hit his second HR for the Jammers and walked in his other three plate appearances.  Harold Ramirez (pictured) went 2-4 with a walk, Reese McGuire 1-3 with a walk, and Jin-De Jhang 1-2 with two walks and three RBIs.  Starter Chad Kuhl didn't strike out anybody in his five innings, but allowed just two runs on five hits and a walk.
