Pirates MiLB recap:  6/11/14

Altoona and Bradenton both had their games suspended due to rain, while West Virginia wishes they'd had worse weather.

-- Indianapolis got by Durham, 2-1.  Tyler Waldron (pictured) gave up one run on five hits in six innings.  He walked two and struck out four.  Wirfin Obispo threw a scoreless inning and Andy Oliver pitched the 9th for his sixth save.  Oliver gave up one hit and fanned one.  Brent Morel returned from the disabled list and went 0-3, dropping his average to .218.  This is a  scary development given Josh Harrison's ankle injury.  Mel Rojas was 1-3.

-- Altoona's game with Portland was suspended after two and a half innings with the Curve trailing, 2-1.  Adrian Sampson pitched three innings, giving up two runs on two hits, with one strikeout.  Alen Hanson was 1-1.

-- Bradenton's game was suspended after three and a half innings with the Marauders trailing Palm Beach, 3-2.  Jason Creasy pitched four innings, giving up three runs on five hits.  Josh Bell hit his eighth HR, his fourth in ten games.

-- West Virginia lost to Greensboro, 7-2.  The loss was the Power's 11th straight and dropped them to 20-45.  Buddy Borden gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings.  He struck out two.  JaCoby Jones, Harold Ramirez, Wyatt Mathisen and Candon Myles all went 2-4.

-- The DSL Pirates topped the Angels, 5-3.  Starter Francis Rodriguez, a 21-year-old righty in his third year, had his second scoreless outing, going five innings and allowing six hits.  He walked one and fanned four.  Most of the more prominent position prospects didn't play.  Felix Vinicio went 2-3 with two walks and Raul Siri hit his first HR.
