Pirates sign Connor Joe and Jordan Luplow

Rich Schultz

The Pirates have signed the 39th overall pick in the 2014 draft, a pick they acquired from the Marlins for Bryan Morris.  Joe was considered a possibility to play catcher, outfield or first as a pro, but the Pirates have stated that he'll play right field.  Terms aren't known yet.  The slot amount is $1,457,600.

UPDATE:  They've also signed 3rd round pick Jordan Luplow.

FURTHER UPDATE:  P2 is reporting that the Pirates have signed their 9th round pick, catcher Kevin Krause.  With the exception of 11th rounder RHP Gage Hinsz, the Pirates have now signed all of their top 22 picks.
