Bob Nutting is the man?

I wake up this morning and read the box score, see that PNC Park was packed again last night and on pace to set an attendance record, and check the standings. The Bucs have the 4th best record in the NL and best since May 2nd. Can this be accurate? Prior to today, I received all my information from beat writers, local sports talk radio, and blogs.

How can the Bucs be in contention with a cheap owner and small payroll?

with disappointing/ total failure seasons from Cole, Liriano, Marte, Pedro, Grilli/Frieri, and Wandy?

with a short bench due to injuries to Cutch, NFW, Barmes, and Stolmy and Pedro not contributing?

with delaying the call-up of Polanco to save only $20 million +/- in the next 6 years and keeping faith in Travis Snider?

with not going "all-in" and making a deadline deal for David Price?

with not resigning AJ Burnett for 14.1 million?

by leading the league in HBP's, TOOTBLANS, and some irrelevant stat called OBP?

by not trading for someone like the recently released Mike Carp or signing a big ticket 1B and playing Travis then Ike?

with NH signing the worst pitcher in baseball to fill AJ's rotation spot?

with wasting time, space, and a few dollars on a has-been like Vance Worley?

I'm a big fan of Cutch, Russ Mart, and Jay Hay just like anyone else, but sooner or later clowns are going to need to STFU and change the narrative and enjoy the ride. Call me crazy, but deductive reasoning would conclude that just maybe Bob Nutting really did hire the best management team in baseball or something close to it.
